Team Bios
Darren Feeley
Darren Feeley has over 15 years of experience working for and with Fortune 100 companies. Prior to Pivotal, Darren was the President and Founder of Navigation Consulting, a business strategy and business development consulting firm. For 10 years he worked at the AOL division of Time Warner where he held various management positions during the company's explosive growth, working to transition it to a mature business. During his tenure, he had responsibilities that included business development, communications and marketing, international ventures, and corporate and technologies strategy. Darren is a graduate of West Virginia University with a Liberal Arts degree with a concentration in Business Administration and a minor in Communications. He now serves on a number of Boards as a strategic advisor.
Karla Russell
Karla co-founded Pivotal in 2007 and has extensive operations and technical experience with telecommunications and ISP providers. Most recently, Karla led systems operations at SunRocket during the aggressive launch of their consumer VoIP service. Karla was responsible for customer database (mySQL), billing application and database (SQLServer), customer signups, customer portal, company web site, address verification system, LNP (local number portability), number management system and gizmo management system. Prior to SunRocket, Karla held various leadership positions at AOL including management of operations for key Search, Social Networking and Video businesses. She worked with teams across the globe and led development of automation tools for business process, problem management and production systems. Karla received her BS in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University.
Malcolm Hawker
Malcolm has over 17 years experience in building and managing world-class software and web applications for some of the biggest B2B and B2C brands in the world. As Vice President of Product Management with QuickArrow, an industry leading provider of SaaS solutions for Professional Service organizations, Malcolm redefined the long-term product and market strategies of the company to attack entirely new customer segments. Previously, as the Director of Product Management for Hoover's, Malcolm led the development of Access Hoover's, the first cloud-based application to integrate the Hoover's business intelligence database to salesforce.com. Prior to Hoover's, Malcolm held a number of senior Product leadership positions during a ten-year career with America Online, both in support of domestic and global business operations. While at AOL, Malcolm led teams responsible for developing software applications to optimize AOL's online advertising inventories and contract revenues: systems which managed over 4 billion transactions a day. He was also responsible for internationalizing AOL's Ad Search infrastructure. Malcolm is an avid outdoorsman and resides with his wife, Carmen, in Austin, TX.
Rob Skaggs
Rob's computer industry experience spans over 18 years with several Fortune 500 companies. This includes 13 years of experience designing and developing software tools to provision, manage, configure, administer, and monitor large distributed systems in both production and office environments. He has held senior engineering positions at both SunRocket and AOL. At AOL, Rob was instrumental in developing software tools and administration policies that allowed AOL's production Unix/Linux system to scale from a few hundred servers to many thousands of servers providing an always-available online service. Rob started his career at IBM and GE Information Services. He received his BS in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech.
